What is divorce procedure in India?

Divorce is not the first choice of any spouse. The meaning of the divorce is dissolution of marriage. For procedure read the following steps:

1. File the petition of mutual divorce consent under Hindu marriage act 1955.

2. Now according to the new law of 2023, any one of both spouse can file the petition of divorce. It does not matter the other spouse is ready or not.

3. After filing, the statement of both parties will record before the court presence.

4. After 30 days court will reconcile the both parties.

5. If everything is okay, then the court will pass the order of divorce in first motion.
